Booking - Terms & Conditions

Deposits/Cancellation

On advance purchase rates a credit or debit card is required to charge full prepayment at the time of booking.  This is non-refundable and non-transferable.
For all other reservations, 25% of the total booking cost is required to confirm the initial reservation.  All deposits are non-refundable.  There will be no further cancellation charge if the booking is cancelled before 09.00 GMT 2 days before your date of arrival.  If the booking is cancelled later, or in the case of a no-show, the first night's accommodation will be charged in addition to the non-refundable deposit.
We would advise guests to take out Travel Insurance against cancellations.

 

Early Departure

Should you opt to curtail your reservation and depart earlier than the original confirmed departure date, we reserve the right to charge an early departure fee which will equate to one night's accommodation.

 

Children

Supper menu available at 6.00pm by prior arrangement, this menu is not available after 7.00pm.  Children's portions of Dinner menu available at 2/3 published price.  No high chairs or young children allowed in the Dining room at Dinner

 

Check-in

Is normally after 3.00pm.  If earlier check-in is required, please enquire in advance.

 

Late Arrivals

Please inform us if you are likely to be after 9.00pm.  Late suppers must be arranged in advance

 

Check-out

Rooms should be vacated by 11.00am on the day of departure.  A charge will be levied for late check-outs.

 

Restaurant Opening Times

Breakfast   7.30am   -   9.30am
Lunch   12.30pm   -   2.00pm
Dinner   6.30pm   -   9.00pm

 

Dress for Dinner

Shorts are not permitted in the restaurant in the evening.

 

Guest Dog Policy

We love welcoming well-behaved dogs to Ballathie House Hotel! To make sure everyone—humans and dogs alike—has a comfortable and enjoyable stay review and agree to our Guest Dog Policy.

 

  1. Declaring Your Dog(s) & Health Requirements
  • We’re delighted to have your dog(s) stay with us! Please confirm the number and breed, of your dog(s).
  • To keep everyone happy and healthy, we kindly ask that all dogs be in good health, in line with the Animal Health and Welfare (Scotland) Act 2006.
  1. Dog-Friendly Fee
  • There’s a £15 per dog, per night fee, which helps us keep our rooms and grounds in top shape.
  • This fee is non-refundable and added to your final bill.
  1. Keeping Things Friendly & Safe
  • Dogs are admitted in the reception foyer area and all outside areas of the hotel but are not allowed in the Drawing Room or the Restaurant.
  • We do have areas where you are welcome to dine with your pet if you so wish, please ask at Reception
  • Dogs must always stay under the control of and with their owners and be on a lead in all public areas.
  • If your dog is feeling a little too enthusiastic (barking excessively or behaving disruptively), we may ask for your help in settling them down or, in rare cases, for them to leave the hotel.
  1. Keeping Ballathie Clean & Fresh
  • Please clean up after your dog and use the waste bins provided.
  • Dogs should not relieve themselves in guest rooms.
  • We appreciate your help in keeping the hotel clean and welcoming for everyone.
  1. Caring for Our Spaces
  • We know accidents happen! However, should your dog cause any damageto hotel property or another guest’s belongings, we kindly ask that you cover the cost of any necessary repairs or replacements.
  • By staying with us, you agree to take full responsibilityfor any such incidents.
  • For everyone’s peace of mind, Ballathie House Hotel is not liable for any claims, costs, or damages related to your pet’s actions.
  1. Keeping Your Dog Healthy & Happy
  • For the comfort of all guests, dogs should be in good health and free from fleas or other parasites.
  • If needed, we may request additional information to ensure everyone’s safety and well-being.
  1. Staying in Your Room
  • We know some pups are well-behaved when left alone, but for their safety and the comfort of other guests, dogs should not be left unattended in the rooms unless in a crate and are not barking.
  1. Extra Cleaning & Hotel Discretion
  • We do our best to keep everything spotless! However, if additional deep cleaning is required due to excessive pet-related mess, an extra charge may be applied.
  • We reserve the right to update this policyas needed to ensure the best experience for all guests—two-legged and four-legged alike! 

Smoking

All our rooms are non-smoking.  Please note that smoking in the hotel is forbidden by law in Scotland.

 

Payment

Accounts are payable upon departure.  Cheques are accepted with a current U.K. bank card.  All major credit and debit cards accepted with the exception of American Express, which unfortunately we can no longer accept.

 

Privacy

Here at Ballathie House Hotel Company Limited, we take your privacy seriously and will only use your personal information to administer your booking and to provide the services you have requested from us.  We will not release your information to third parties unless (1) we have your express permission to do so, (2) it is necessary to do so in order perform a service which you have requested, (3) we are required to do so by law.  . 

From time to time, we would like to contact you with details of special offers.  If you consent to us contacting you for this purpose, you can sign up to receive our newsletter  or complete the relevant section on your registration card when you check-in at the hotel.
